About the Author
Kenneth J. Meier (Ph.D., Syracuse) is currently the Charles Gregory Chair in Liberal Arts, professor of political science, Director of the Carlos Cantu Hispanic Education and Opportunity Endowment, and coordinator of the Project for Equity, Representation and Governance at Texas A&M University. Meier is also a professor of public sector management in the Cardiff School of Business, Cardiff University (Wales). He has served as president of the Public Management Research Association as well as the Public Administration, the Public Policy, and the State Politics sections of the American Political Science Association. He was a member and chair of the Oklahoma State Ethics and Merit Commission, and a member of the Governor's Commission on Professional Licensing and Discipline (Wisconsin) and the Task Force on Property and Liability Insurance (Wisconsin). He is the author or coauthor of several books, including APPLIED STATISTICS FOR PUBLIC AND NONPROFIT ADMINISTRATION (Thomson Wadsworth, 2006), THE POLITICS OF SIN: DRUGS, ALCOHOL, AND PUBLIC POLICY (M. E. Sharpe, 1994), and POLITICS, POLICY, AND ORGANIZATIONS (University of Michigan, 2003).
