Book Description
Over the years, aside from numerous scholarly papers, Dr. Raman has written scores of articles and lectured for the general public on various aspects of science and its impact on society. Many of these have been in the form of commentaries and personal reflections. The present volume is a collection of some of those. They range in themes from comets and eclipses to brief biographies of Bohr and De Broglie, to reflections on Science and Religion. Also included in this volume are some book reviews.

About the Author
Dr. V. V. Raman received his Ph.D. in Theoretical Physis from the University of Paris. He was for some time associated with the UNESCO, and has taught at various universities in Central and South America, in North Africa, and in.India. For more than three decades he taught Physics and Humanities at the Rochester Institute of Technology for over three decades. One of his passions has been the popularization of science and the propagation of scientific world views to the public at large. He is now an Emeritus Professor at RIT.
