Book Description
Author Bob Claypole is a former river-rafting and driftboat fishing guide and is currently a Forest Service fire lookout. For nearly 30 years he has lived and worked on the Klamath River in far northern California, all the while continuously birding along over 100 miles of river corridor and up into the surrounding mountains. His detailed observations have resulted in this book.

Over 200 species live, nest or migrate through this region, which is located between the birding hot spots of the Klamath Basin and the Humboldt Bay/Del Norte Coast,a "missing link" waiting to be discovered by birders looking for new adventures.

The book includes Tours complete with maps and driving instructons,Bar Graphs depicting abundance and probability for each species, brief Accounts of local habits and sightings of each species, plus broad background information on Geography, Habitat, Weather and more. The text is enhanced by delightful line drawings of many of the species.
