There is a dearth of good material in environmental studies that integrates the perspectives of philosophy, geography, and the social sciences. This volume is a welcome exception.

Book Description
Just Environments is a multi-disciplinary examination of the international, intergenerational, inter-species issues arising from our treatment of the environment. This is the first book to consider such a range of issues approached from a variety of perspectives, including philosophical, political and ecological.
The contributors consider our obligations to future generations, to the developing world, and to the sub-human species respectively. They examine the social, political, and ethical aspects of the ecology from the perspective of moral philosophy, as well as from a scientific angle that is crucial to furthering an informed debate in these areas.
The chapters are written by acknowledged authorities in their respective fields. It will be an important book that brings ethics back to the study of the environment.
