From the Back Cover
North America has had such a rich history of Conservation visionaries: people who have made it their mission to explain the intricacies of nature, to help us recognize the links between man and other creatures, to show us that everything we do in our world affects the natural world. These visionaries have included the likes of Aldo Leopold, Henry David Thoreau, George Bird Grinnell, John Muir and Canada's own Andy Russell and Roderick Haig-Brown. It's time to add a new name to this austere list: Kevin Van Tighem.
