About the Author
Charles Maynard is familiar with national parks throughout the United States. Having traveled extensively, Charles has written numerous articles and books on national parks and waterfalls. As a clumnist for Yellowstone Journal, an author of Waterfalls of Yellowstone and a co-author of Waterfalls and Cascades of Great Smoky Mountains, he is able to combine his love of national parks and waterfalls. Charles' affinity for national parks is displayed in his job as Executive Driector of Friends of Great Smoky Mountains National Park. His wife, Janice, and their daughters, Caroline and Anna, assisted in the field work for this guide. The Maynards reside in Tennessee where they continue to write about and photograph waterfalls. Photographers - Janice Maynard, a school teacher and author of romance novels, has had photos published in Waterfalls of Yellowstone, and numerous books and articles. David Morris - a nurse anesthetist, has long enjoyed hiking and backpacking and has visited several national parks. The combination of his love for the backcountry and his photographic skills allow him to capture images of the more remote subjects. He has had photos published in Waterfalls of Yellowstone, Waterfalls and Cascades of Great Smoky Mountains, and The Natural Arches of Big South Fork (UT Press, 2000) as well as many other books and articles.
