About the Author
Laurie Hobbs-Olson holds a bachelor of Science degree in botany from Ohio University and a masters in science education from the university of Maine. She has been a ranger-naturalist with the national Park Service for 12 years serving in seven National Park areas, most recently as Acadia's environmental education coordinator.
